Little Ship

I had the prettiest little ship,

With sails as white as snow,

I went down to the riverside

To sail it to and fro.

And oh, a puff of wind came by

And took my boat from me!

I wonder if it`s sailing now

              Upon the wide blue sea.

Old chairs to mend!

Old chairs to mend!

       Old chairs to mend!

I never would cry,

       old chairs to mend,

If I`d as much money as I could spend.

I never would cry, old chairs to mend!

Old clothes to sell! Old clothes to sell!

I never would cry, old clothes to sell,

If I`d as much money as I could tell,

I never would cry, old clothes to sell!

I love little pussy

I love little pussy,

   Her coat is so warm,

And if I don`t hurt her

             She`ll do me no harm,

So I`ll not pull her away,

             Nor drive her away,

But pussy and I

              Very gently will play,

She shall sit by my side,

       And I`ll give her some food;

And pussy will love me

               Because I am good.

A Cat

A Cat came fiddling out of a barn,

With a pair of bagpipes under her arm

She could sing nothing but,

                             Fiddle cum fee,

The mouse has married the humble-bee.

       Pipe, cat; dance, mouse;

We`ll have a wedding at our good house.

Rat a tat, tat

Rat a tat, tat

Who is that ?

         Only Grandma`s pussy cat.

What do you want ?

               A bottle of milk.

Where is your money ?

               In my pocket.

Where is your pocket ?

               I forgot it.

Oh you silly Pussy cat.

Who killed Cock Robin ?

Who killed Cock Robin ?

         I, said the sparrow,

With my bow and arrow,

         I killed Cock Robin.

All the birds of the air

         Fell a-sighing and a-sobbing,

When they heard the bell toll

For poor Cock Robin.

Way down south where

Way down south where

        bananas grow,

A grasshopper stepped on

        an elephant`s toe.

The elephant said,

        with tears in his eyes,

'Pick on somebody your own size`

Little Boy Blue

Little Boy Blue,

         Come blow your horn,

The sheep`s in the meadow,

          The cow`s in the corn.

Where is the boy

Who looks after the sheep ?

He`s under a haycock

            Fast asleep.

Will you wake him ?

            No, not I,

For if I do,

            He`s sure to cry.

Wee willie winkie

Wee willie winkie

                 runs through the town

Upstairs and downstairs

                 in his night gown,

Rapping at the window,

                 crying through the lock,

Are the children all in bed,

                  for now it`s eight o`clock ?

Boats sail on the rivers

Boats sail on the rivers,

                     And ships sail on the sea;

But clouds that sail across the sky

                     Are prettier far than these.

There are bridges on the rivers,

                     As pretty as you please;

But the bow that bridges heaven,

                     And overtops the trees,

And builds a road from earth to sky,

                                   Is prettier far than these.

Flying Man

"Flying-man,

        Flying-man,

Up in the sky,

Where are you going to,

      Flying so high ?"

"Over the mountains,

              And over the sea!"

"Flying-man, Flying-man,

              Can`t you take me ?"

Open My Bill

Cuckoo, Cuckoo

                  What do you do ?

             In April

                   I open my bill.

             In May

                   I sing night and day.

             In June

                   I change my tune.

             In July

                   Away I fly.

             In August

                   Go I must.

A white hen sitting

A white hen sitting

                   On white eggs there:

Nest, there speckled chicknes

As plump as plump can be.

An owl and a hawk

And a bat come to see:

But chicks beneath their mother`s wing

Squat safe as safe can be.

Creep Mouse

Creep, creep, creepy mouse,

Where is your little house ?

It`s down there in the corner at

                       the bottom of the wall!

Creep, creep, creepy mouse,

                      Show me your little house.

I fear you cannot get inside,

                     the door is very small.

A crooked man

There was a crooked man,

and he walked a crooked mile,

He found a crooked sixpence

                    against a crooked stile;

He bought a crooked cat,

                    which caught a crooked mouse,

And they all lived together

                    in a little crooked house.

While flies can travel

While flies can travel
          Here and there,

And spiders can`t
          Go anywhere,

I wish I knew
          The reason why

The spider always
           Gets the fly.

Incey Wincey Spider

Incey Wincey Spider
                      Climbing up a spout.

Down came the rain
                       And washed the spider out.

Out came the sun
And dried up all the rain.

Incey Wincey Spider
                       Climbed the spout again.

Cock crows in the morn

The cock crows in the morn
                To tell us to rise,

And he that lies late
                Will never be wise:

For early to bed,
                And early to rise,

In the way to be healthy,
                Wealthy and wise.
